About

Shine is a collaboration between the School of Physics and Astronomy and the Music Centre of the University of St Andrews. It is our goal to celebrate the International Year of Light in St Andrews with Science, Art and Music. We do this by:

• Developing science demonstrations and experiments that showcase the connections between light and sound, and explore how music can be used to explain science concepts.
• Staging musical performances that are inspired by light, astronomy, and science in general
• Developing art work that visualises the connection between science and music

We also attend festivals and visit schools. You can find our events in our calendar, and you can contact us if you would like us to visit your festival, school or event.
